Time and Race Standards for attaining a varsity letter in the sport of Cross Country at Eleanor Roosevelt High School
Although Cross Country races are sometimes shorter than three miles, or longer than three miles,
the following standards will be implemented moving forward when determining who has earned their varsity letter.
Just because you train with varsity, or consistently are apart of the weight-room crew, does not necessarily mean you will earn your letter.
Men's Cross Country Standards
- Run Sub 17:30 for three miles three times in a season
(Conversions accepted (< 5:40 pace)
- Run Sub 17:00 for three miles once in a season
(Conversions accepted (< 5:30 pace)
- Run Varsity three times in a season.
- Earn a medal at League Finals.

Women's Cross Country Standards
- Run Sub 21:00 for three miles three times in a season
(Conversions accepted (< 7:00 pace)
- Run Sub 20:30 for three miles once in a season
(Conversions accepted (< 6:50 pace)
- Run Varsity three times in a season.
- Earn a medal at League Finals.
